Noted Historian and true crime author, Blaine L. Pardoe, issued a review of Hauptmann's Ladder.  He wrote

 "I have written for university press’s before and I know they can have a reputation for being dull and boring.  This story is not.  Even though I had read many books on this subject, I still found myself compelled to continue on.  Mr. Cahill’s book is what true crime/history books should do, frame the story in their proper context, and hit the facts."

and 

"I highly recommend this book to true crime buffs and aficionados.  The writing is solid and it is as much a history book as a true crime story – built on facts and evidence.  Put it on your summer reading list!"

Book Recommended by Prominent Web Site

Crime Magazine has recommended by book as part of their monthly selections.  In vol. 41, they wrote, "Richard Cahill, a former assistant district attorney and criminal defense lawyer, debunks each claim that points to a police conspiracy, using the slats on the ladder as the centerpiece of his case against the German carpenter who had illegally entered the United States in 1923."

Prominent Author Visits My Signing in Jersey City

The appearance and signing at Word Books was a great success.  Of great importance to me, Robert Zorn, the author of "Cemetery John", a very prominent book about the Lindbergh kidnapping, took time from his busy schedule to come to my event.  He even purchased one of my books and asked me to sign it.

I was extremely flattered and pleased.  Once you have read my book, by all means, check out his book too!!
