Book Signing Scheduled in Flemington !!

I will be appearing on November 11th at 2:00 p.m. for a signing of my book, Hauptmann's Ladder: A Step-By-Step Analysis of the Lindbergh Kidnapping, at Act 2 Books in Flemington, New Jersey, one of New Jersey's most famous used book shops. The store is located at 20 Turntable Junction, Flemington, New Jersey.

Flemington, New Jersey is the location of the the Trial of the Century. On February 13, 1935, Bruno Richard Hauptmann was convicted of the murder of Charles Lindbergh, Jr. The kidnapping and murder of the Lindbergh Baby was one of the biggest media sensations the world has ever known.

I am very pleased to receive such an invitation over 3 1/2 years after my book's publication. I am very much looking forward to the event.

About the Author

Richard T. Cahill Jr. was born and raised in the City of Kingston, New York. After graduating Kingston High School, he attended Mount Saint Mary College, graduating in 1993 (summa cum laude) with a Bachelors degree in History and Political Science.

He attended Albany Law School and graduated in 1996 with a Juris Doctor. Cahill passed the New York State Bar Exam and was admitted to practice law in January of 1997.

Cahill started his legal career in private practice before becoming an Assistant District Attorney. As a prosecutor, Cahill was assigned to the Major Crime Bureau and later the Drug and Gang Violence Unit. He prosecuted drug dealers, gang members, and other criminals, many of whom still call state prison home. Later, Cahill returned to private practice in a variety of areas including criminal defense and workers compensation. Cahill also served as a clerk to a Trial Court Judge giving him a third perspective on the criminal justice system.

Cahill first learned of the Lindbergh kidnapping in 1989 at the age of 18 as the result of an assignment in Freshman English. After reading several books on the subject with completely contrary conclusions based upon the same evidence, Cahill decided to take a few weeks to review the evidence personally in order to learn the truth. His research has now lasted more than twenty years and has continued throughout his practice of law. Cahill was even recruited as a Guest Lecturer on the case at Rutgers University.

Today, in addition to practicing law and researching the Lindbergh case, Cahill volunteers his time as an attorney adviser for the Coleman High School Mock Trial Team. Cahill teaches high school students about trial tactics and legal ethics as part of their involvement in the New York State Mock Trial Competition.
